Their designs were created to reflect the team spirit, the spirit of unity, come together and supporting hand in hand. With the Home Jersey, inspired by the image of “Come together” we developed this 3-dimensional Spiral dress motif. With the Away Jersey, “Hugging” “Team spirit” becomes foundation of the construction, where each and every part of the outfit takes on a unique role in completing the whole.

May 2023 - ‘Art rose to meet fashion at AAFW 2023’ on RUSSH MAGAZINE
INJURY is leading the charge on the intersection between AI art and fashion. "Fashion is an experience, whether physical or digital, it celebrates and represents identity and expression," Eugene Leung and Dan Tse of INJURY tell me. And like so many, the pair see fashion as falling under the umbrella of art. Last year, Leung and Tse held the first metaverse fashion show in Australia, this year INJURY married AI art and fashion in what they've dubbed a "phy-igtal" runway. Not only is this hybrid fashion experience "sustainably conscious" as digital clothing exists in lieu of physical garments during the sampling process, but the integration of AI technology streamlines ideation, while "whilst refining and developing them with detail and efficiency," says Tse and Leung.

May 2023 - INJURY 2023/ 24 Collection ‘0000’ featured on ELLE - ‘The Best Moments Of Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2023’: Cyberpunk Fever Dream by INJURY

INJURY started its runway presentation with short narrative film, seemingly set in a post-apocalyptic, virtual (but maybe not) reality. By it's own description, the presentation was "hybrid phy-digital"—present in both physical and digital worlds. The runway marked a return to the physical for the veteran Australian brand, who has of late presented mostly virtual showings. The designs were daring and unique and if you didn't walk out of the show wanting at least a vest made of buckles or some elbow-length gloves, we don't what to say.

Aug 2021 - Review of INJURY CG Film by Nick Knight and Raquel Couceiro / SHOWstudio

“I think there is something really cool about this 3D space where clothes exist. What really shines for me in this film is that, I actually think the clothes look really good, really probable and I can see how they look in real life. Sometimes in CGI films you don’t get that impression, but I think the clothes here actually really shine through in terms of like you can see how they will look realistically. I also think that the visuals are really great. The visuals are great, the music are great, I think we are always so excited to see CGI film and its a step forward.” — Raquel Couceiro

“ It is something that we probably starting to see, at last, a real new step in visuals. It doesn’t look like anything from prior to 2000. This is a new visual landscape, with new users and new styles, new people and everything is being rediscovered here.” — Nick Knight
