INJURY, Australian multidisciplinary art merging realities across fashion, CG film, music and 3D Art collectibles presents a riotous celebration of transformation and defiant regeneration through adversity with ‘55555’, their 2024/25 collection.

Bearing the collection slogan, “Your love is your reality,” INJURY’s third Australian Fashion Week show in three years, is their largest collection to date, including 37 looks incorporating womenswear, menswear, footwear, bags and jewellery as well as 3D wearable art pieces. ‘55555’ is a call back to the origins of the label and a tribute to the strength, daring, and courageousness one finds after adversity. Inspired by the angel number 55555, a call to release any fear or resistance holding you back.

‘55555’ features a wealth of collaborations with Australian artists and designers embodying the creative collective world of the designer, designing a hybrid of everyday classics and avant-garde styles, blending function and fashion to create transformative pieces for individuals.

“Our central aesthetic is an interpretation of goth culture, biker aesthetics and sci fi and dark techno, but it is also heavily influenced by the minimalism of Australian style, the way it is worn - so 55555 is both dark, light and effortless. For 55555 we looked at the journey of transformation and empowerment of central characters in sci-fi films The Matrix, cult movies like Mad Max and the paradoxical Australian landscape, where even in the severity of desert, life flourishes,” said INJURY Founder Eugene Leung.

Artists, models and creatives embodying INJURY’s immutable ethos wear physical collection pieces as part of a merged reality against a surreal backdrop of CG film and visceral electronic music soundtrack produced in collaboration between INJURY x REAL PARENT - an eight-time international film festival winning combination that plays at the intersection of Web3 fashion, 3D Art, Music and Film. Major symbols from the CG film have been recreated in tangible forms as wearable art sculpture bags, held by models as they walk the runway. The runway follows INJURY x REAL PARENT being the first-ever Australian fashion brand to participate in ‘Hologram Fashion Show’ at Amsterdam Fashion Week and a hologram show at NFT Paris, Grand Palais.

‘55555’ features a special collaboration with chart topping Sony recording artist May-A who walks the runway for the first time, as well as featuring as an avatar in the CG film. May-a has collaborated with INJURY to create a unique clothing item and is the celebrated voice behind chart topping ‘Say Nothing’ in collaboration with Australian electronic musician and producer Flume.

55555 also presents the first heat-conductive ‘smart textiles’ on the Australian Fashion Week runway, produced as part of a collaboration with KnitWarm - a multiple award-winning invention (70 awards to date including the Red Dot Award 2023, Good Design Award 2023, German Design Award 2024). The heat conductive ‘smart textile’ created from silver thread can be charged via USB and worn for up to 12 hours, further reducing the seasonability of collections and exploring a sustainable, low energy and low cost solution for providing heat for health and comfort.

In collaboration with Australian jewellery artist Ophiuchus, a collection of sinewy chrome armour-like jewellery was created inspired and modelled from the CG Film. Hand sculpted, the pieces highlight delicate bodies encased in armour. The freehand constructions evoke scar tissue, embodying the brand ethos of strength after INJURY across a hand crafted collection of necklaces, chokers, ear cuffs and earrings, belt buckles and eyewear.

A collection of bags in collaboration with Australian modular bag brand ALPAKA was developed in 4 styles, each exploring proportion, utility and the reality of space in modern life. The designs are made from a 100% recycled fabric made from plastic bottles called Axoflux, a trademark of the Melbourne brand. The collaboration, designed to complement the collection, will be available to the public through the INJURY and ALPAKA websites.

INJURY also collaborated with Australian denim artisan Étienne to create an on-going capsule of denim pieces, where archive INJURY denim jeans underwent an artistic transformation into contemporary silhouettes. Through meticulous craftsmanship, the capsule series encompasses a range of regenerated wide-leg denim jeans and maxi skirts reimagined with a modern flair.

Another standout piece is a bespoke denim corset, adorned by May-A and born from the creative fusion of INJURY and Calli-Comical. Handcrafted in Sydney, this masterpiece employs deadstock fabrics from the depths of INJURY’s archives, a testament to the brand’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.
