INJURY 2022/ 23 Collection ‘Rare Reality’

The Rare Reality INJURY 2022/23 collection is depicted by 8 avatar models in an otherworldly multiverse presented as a 3-minute CGI animation fashion and music film debuting IRL for AAFW 2022.

Rare Reality references life on the metaverse. Inspired by Philip K. Dick, the sci-fi fiction writer who wrote about alternate realities, illusory environments and altered states of consciousness; the collection is built on the macrocosm story of characters looking for human touch as they traverse through dreamscapes.

Rare Reality uses the symbol of Yin and Yang to depict its original ancient philosophy that describes how contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world and complete each other. Do we have to lose the sense of human touch on the metaverse? Can we maintain a balance between the digital and the physical world like Yin and Yang?

The models are characters, designed as hyper-human, demonstrating power through the ACG-inspired (Anime, Comic, Gaming sub-culture) gender-neutral fashion collection; the pieces are enhanced classics with modern updates. The prints and symbology in the collection includes signature INJURY visuals that speak to the origin of the five elements - wood, fire, earth, water and metal.

INJURY presents fashion for the future with a visionary, truly sustainable approach: the Rare Reality 2022/23 collection is available as a digital collection to purchase on digital fashion NFT marketplace DRESS X (nft.dressx.com) with Augmented Reality Digital Dressing Utility, a series of NFTs and is available made to order as a physical Ready to Wear collection.

Rare Reality was created as a sequel to INJURY’s The Butterfly’s Dream, Australia’s first ever 100% CGI fashion show which premiered at AAFW in 2021 and published on SHOWStudio by Nick Knight. The music track of the same title Rare Reality and the CG animation is created in collaboration with CG Visual Art and Music Collective REAL PARENT.

The Rare Reality film is part of an ongoing expansion of the macrocosm-universe of INJURY x REAL PARENT, an evolving series of stories with interconnected narratives.

DeepFaith is the music child of Byron Spencer and Daniel Stricker. A surrealist somewhat autobiographical and somewhat fictional Netflix series for the zero attention span generation. A shrine to their digital obsessions. Guided by their digital leader ATHENA, they are a decentralised autonomous organisation of likeminded individuals striving towards universal consciousness.

DeepFaith perform live, with dancers and a motion capture performance by Talia Kuo presenting an IRL showing of the INJURY collection, 6 looks as a digital avatars.
